MicroPort^® NeuroTech™ Completes World's First Application of PCAR Intervention System

Shanghai, China — Recently, the Percutaneous Neuroprotection for Carotid Artery Remodelling (PCAR) (PCAR) Intervention System, jointly developed by MicroPort® NeuroTech™ in collaboration with Prof. Bo Yu's team at Fudan University Pudong Medical Center, achieved a global milestone with the completion of the world's first PCAR procedure at the center. This successful intervention rescued a patient suffering from severe carotid artery stenosis. The PCAR represents an evolution from Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR), further advancing minimally invasive techniques and simplifying operations.

Sendai, Japan —On November 3, MicroPort NeuroTech announced that the NUMEN™ Coil Embolization System (NUMEN™) completed its first batch of clinical implantations in Japan on 10 October. Within three weeks following this, 28 procedures were successfully carried out in 22 Japanese hospitals, receiving overall positive feedback. Adding to this achievement, on October 1, NUMEN™ received approval from Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) for inclusion in public medical insurance.
